What You'll Do:
● Spend quality time with patients through conversation, sharing stories, and offering a listening ear.
● Provide emotional support, companionship, and understanding to patients and the families
● Engage in activities that bring joy and comfort to patients such as reading, playing cards etc.
Requirements:
● A kind and empathetic nature.
● Commitment to regular weekly visits.
● Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
Training Provided:
● Comprehensive Orientation: Learn about hospice care, the role of a volunteer, and the impact you can make.
● Communication Skills: Training on effective communication techniques, active listening, and providing emotional support.
● Self-Care: Tips and resources to ensure you take care of your own emotional well-being while volunteering.
● Ongoing Support: Access to a supportive community of fellow volunteers and staff for continuous learning and encouragement.
● Background check, Negative TB test and proof required immunizations
